Get to Know Rez-Tech, Jack the Jar Man, and how the Family Business Started Discovering the Secrets of Powerful Packaging About: Rez-Tech Corp. and The Jar Man Rez-Tech Corp. Plastic Jar Division was established in 1982 in Kent, OH for a midwest distribution/manufacturing hub to supply Milwaukee, Chicago, Philadelphia snack and candy companies. Rez-Tech is a privately held FAMILY manufacturer and distributor of wide mouth plastic jars, bottles, PET Preforms and custom parts. Started by Tom Podnar, (with two partners), developed some of the most innovative thin wall blow molding machines of their day. These extrusion blow molding machines where among the 1st to do CLEAR FDA thin wall wide mouth jars for candy and snacks. Rez-Tech needed a west coast manufacturing plant and opened Rez-Tech-West in San Jose CA with the help and management of , my brother, Scott Podnar. With San Jose becoming Silcon Valley, it became uneconomical to manufacture plastic jars where the wages for employees became a considerable challenge. A very wise decision, Our family sold our west coast operation and concentrated on extrusion (EBM) , Injection Stretch (ISBM) and started developing our 2 step PET distributed manufacturing spoke and wheel model. A wise sustainable decision indeed! We provide clients with stock plastic jars and custom packaging solutions engineered through Rez-Tech capabilities along with the benefits of dealing with a 30 year old family owned business. The manufacturing plant is overseen by my brother, Scott Podnar, with help of my brother Craig Podnar. Sales are handled by Al Clarke, my brother inlaw, and myself, Jack the Jar Man. Plastic Jar Division also manufactures wide mouth preforms on new injection molding equipment to support its RHB operation on premise or distributed to its onsite plants and satellite plants across USA, and to sell preforms directly to end users.
